Hi
Hope you found the next beach more to what it was a few years ago. When and where are you meeting Bren? We were in Kelowna for the weekend and had a great time hiking and golfing[they golfed, I hit and hit and hit and lost 5 balls].
Are you thinking of not going to Cambodia and just going to Europe. August in Europe is very hot but I guess after Thailand you wouldn't notice it. You know I would recommend Italy-Venice, Verona, Cortona and Rome. The history and the scenery are sooooo. Spain on the Med Sea were also great, we found the people very friendly. But what about London and the Palace and Victoria Museum. You see, they is soo much you could do,and you could do lots if you plan it right. Ask Bren about that cheap airline he used.
Hope you are both well. I heard it snowed in Calgary for the long weekend.
Take care. Much love Mom x0x0x0x

So sorry to hear that you guys were sick at the beginning of your trip. You look like you're having a great time now, though! Steph, you're SO tanned. We love the picture of you eating corn on the cob!

Too bad your pristine beach has changed in just a few years. It looks beautiful in the pictures, though! Very envious of you, we don't even have leaves on the trees yet.

So you're considering Europe? If you go in July-August, be prepared for crowds in the big cities and ports. Small towns in August can be difficult because many people with small businesses shut down to go to the sea for the month. But, many people say they hardly notice in the big cities. If you're running out of money by then, we'd recommend Spain/Portugal or Eastern Europe. If you're not worrying about the budget, then Europe's you're oyster. Most expensive overall will be England. Go to Rick Steeve's website for really good advice on choosing accomodations, transportation skills, and grocery shopping in Europe. He also has listed lots of less-touristy places. We have his "Europe Through the Back Door" book and now we wish we would've given it to you. If you're OK with hostels, go to the Lonely Planet site. We liked Paris, Rome, the Vatican, Seville, and Barcelona the best.

Hope that helps. If you go to Rome or Paris, we can give you our best/worst list. Linda's been to Spain, so she could help you there.

Lots of love,
Jon and Mer
